On my way from Belfast international to Donegal for a my mother’s memorial mass. ETA at the Mellon which i’d never heard of was 11.50pm. I’d already driven 150 miles so I was smashed tired. Called the hotel en route and got the night manager. Asked him to prepare me a sandwich. It wasn’t gourmet but that didn’t matter, it was a festive sandwich as it’s Dec 22. Loads of ham, coleslaw and a nice cup of tea. The manager was lovely. He made the effort to show hospitality and that’s all you can ask for. Meanwhile the hotel is a 3 star. But the welcome was 6 star. The place is spotless, top to bottom. The price point was a steal and the service kicked the Maldron Burlington’s backside when it came to the service and hospitality. If you can find a fault with this place then you must be Victor Meldrew because it’s a total find. The room and bed are fit for any head of state. This place is clearly run by good people who take great pride in their business and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Well done PS - the night manager wasn’t going to charge me for the sambo, but I gave him a decent tip because his welcome was so genuine. Maith an buchaill

I recently celebrated my Hen party weekend with 26 friends and family, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff and management went above and beyond to make everything perfect. They helped organise external vendors for activities like a paint and sip session and cocktail-making classes, and were more than happy to accommodate them on-site. We had a private function room that suited our group perfectly, and the hotel even served a buffet-style lunch directly to the room, meaning we could relax and enjoy the day without having to move around. Later on, they thoughtfully transferred our decorations to the dining area for our evening meal, adding an extra special touch. The evening meal itself was exceptional, generous portions, plenty of veg, and a delicious set menu with starters, mains, and dessert. We were treated to a fun night of karaoke, and even the owner, Pat, joined in for a singalong, which made it all the more memorable. A special shout-out to Anna, our favourite waitress, who took such great care of us throughout the day. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome. The cocktails were amazing, and the hotel surprised us with complimentary chips and sausages in the evening, a lovely, thoughtful gesture. We’ll definitely be back and would 100% recommend this venue for any celebration or event. It's a nice wee place. Nothing fancy. I first knew this place as a country pub, and visited over the years, it's grow over the years, but in terms of food and service, nothing's changed, it's still a lovely wee place. The first person we met was Aine the receptionist, a lovely kind lady who helped us with our booking, we'd got the booking wrong and she kindly sorted it out for us. The room was comfortable and clean, with all the usual items to be found in a hotel. The bar was quiet with a good range of drinks and the bar staff were good. Breakfast was excellent, well cooked and plentiful. The downside was the hot water had failed so I had a cold shower. The hotel staff were busy rectifying the failure, but these things take time. It didn't spoil our stay, and we will return next year.

Just leaving this beautiful understated little Haven popped in for lunch. Lovely friendly staff ...Fish and chips to die for soup and toasted sandwiches filled to the brim. Homely surrounding then to top it all off homemade sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble omg I will so be back to try this again !!
